Connecting the Dots

Let's Honor the 9-11 Victims

by Michael Langston

On Saturday, September 10, Victor Thorn, Lisa Guliani and I drove to New York City so we could be at Ground Zero the following day to speak the truth to all who would listen about what really brought the World Trade Towers down. It wasn't plane impacts or the relatively small office fires that resulted from them that reduced those massive towers to clouds of dust and piles of twisted steel. The sign that we brought with us in the trunk of our car that we would later undauntedly hold up before the open graves of the towers told the true story:

9-11 WORLD TRADE CENTER
CONTROLLED DEMOLITION

This was my first trip to New York City, and as we crossed the George Washington Bridge and entered the city for the very first time, it all suddenly became much more real for me. Here is where this terrible tragedy that I had been researching for months had actually happened. This feeling intensified when we arrived a few hours later at the actual site of the WTC disaster after walking the three miles or so from our hotel. One could see the immense gap in the skyline created by the absence of the two towers, and as we stood at the fence enclosing this huge open grave, all three of us were overcome by the terrible reality of what had taken place there four years earlier.

So many innocent people had died so needlessly in that monstrous event. It brought tears to my eyes to hold on with both hands to that fence, to stare across that desolate grave site through tear-blurred eyes, and to contemplate the enormity of the evil that had transformed an ordinary day in the lives of these victims - a day no different than this - into a horror unrivaled in hell itself.

Why had this happened? What evil force caused those immense towers to collapse into dust and rubble while people were still in them? What kind of wicked monsters could inflict such suffering on fellow human beings, ripping their bodies to shreds and burying them in pieces under tons of hard steel and concrete? Who are the real perpetrators? These are the questions that cry out for answers, and, indeed, while standing at that steel fence enclosing the tomb that the World Trade Center complex had now become, one could almost hear the wails and cries of the innocent victims of this unspeakable tragedy demanding that we answer these vital questions.

This is the reality that must be faced squarely. We must all find the courage to overcome our fear and to break through our denial for the sake of these victims. Only the TRUTH of what really happened there - no matter how horrible it may be and no matter how hard it may be for us to face - will honor those who died there and give rest to their restless spirits which cry out from their tomb for truth and for justice!
